Susan Pierson-Brown, Principal
Susan Pierson-Brown is the founder and principal of Seven November. Since 2004, Seven November has helped leaders in philanthropy, nonprofit organizations and academia generate awareness and support for their ideas through persuasive communications. Susan consults with a select number of clients who are tackling some of the world’s most challenging social justice issues, helping them understand their audiences, tell their stories, and change their communities.
Before founding Seven November, Susan was the senior communications advisor to billionaire philanthropist Paul G. Allen and served as head of communications for Vulcan, Inc. as well as the Paul G. Allen Family Foundations. She directed communications integration among the investment companies in the over $30 billion Vulcan portfolio, was accountable for all of Mr. Allen’s global communications and served as his sole spokesperson to the media. Additionally, she has 25+ years award-winning public relations experience on both the client and agency sides, designing significant change initiatives for leading national brands and foundations including Nike, the Gates Foundation, Microsoft, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and Time Warner.
Susan serves on the boards of nonprofits, including Treehouse and the Seattle Children's Museum, and as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for children in foster care in King County, Washington. She is a proud graduate of the University of Oregon School of Journalism.
